An American woman finds herself at the center of an awkward dispute between neighbors after receiving a strongly worded letter accusing her of causing late-night disturbances, except she claims it’s not her.
The woman, from Colorado, shared the ordeal on Reddit after her neighbor slipped a handwritten note under her door.
Her neighbor pleaded with the accused couple to move her bed away from the wall, claiming their “activities” keep her awake every night despite earplugs and loud white noise.
The exhausted writer goes on to detail how her late-night games have shaken her floor and her bed, leaving her sleep-deprived and forced to retreat to her living room just to get some rest.
The note said: ‘PLEASE move your bed 2-3 feet away from the wall. I’m glad they have sex every night, however I don’t want to hear about it or be a part of it. Shake the entire floor, including the bed frame.
‘I’ve even changed the orientation of my room so that my bed doesn’t share a wall with you and it still vibrates my floor/bed and I can STILL hear your girl moaning.
‘Again, happy for you all, but I HAVE to sleep. I don’t remember the last time I slept more than six hours because your activities keep me awake.
‘Now I’m afraid to go to bed. I sleep with earplugs AND a music speaker blasting white noise and I can STILL hear them. There have been nights when I have had to sleep in my living room.
An American woman finds herself at the center of an uncomfortable dispute between neighbors after receiving a strongly worded letter accusing her of causing late-night disturbances.
The letter stunned the woman, as she insists that she and her husband have not been doing anything remotely disturbing.
“I wish it was our bed that caused the earthquakes, but no, it’s just us sleeping,” he explained in his post.
“I also heard banging in the middle of the night, but only twice, so I can’t determine which neighbor this is coming from. It’s probably an upstairs neighbor.
Things took a turn when the neighbor confronted her in person, claiming that she had consulted with other tenants and was convinced that the noise was coming from her apartment.
Even though the young woman repeatedly explained that they were not responsible, the neighbor did not seem to believe her.
Her neighbor claimed that the loud noises started when the sign and her husband moved in, so she believes they are to blame.
To make matters worse, the situation escalated later that night when the frustrated neighbor began punching the wall and yelling “shut up” even though the woman says she and her husband were doing nothing but relaxing.
“My husband was playing video games and I was in the living room,” she explained. ‘I’m making her go talk to her now, so I’m hoping she hears the noise and sees it at the same time to prove it’s not us!’
One exhausted woman claimed her neighbors’ late-night games had shaken the floor and bed frame, leaving her sleep deprived and forced to retreat to her living room for some rest.
The peculiar dispute has sparked discussion online, with many commentators sympathizing with the accused woman.
Some suggested the noise could be coming from a completely different apartment, while others laughed at the awkwardness of being accused of late-night escapades.
‘You received an anonymous note for a problem for which you are not responsible. It’s going in the trash,’ said one.
“If she continues to be aggressive, let the owner know,” one woman advised. “You can’t just harass whoever you think is making noise.”
Another shared a similar experience: ‘Years ago, my roommate and I came home after a night of partying and the neighbors in the building across the street were attacking with the window open, even yelling.
‘We waited until they finished and then gave them a standing ovation, complete with whistles and cheers. The window slammed shut and we never heard them again.
“Sometimes people think it will be hot if others hear them having sex out loud, but when they face the reality that someone is actually listening to them, they get scared.”
