A woman has explained why she wasn’t invited to her friend’s wedding, despite attending the hen party and spending thousands of dollars.

Amy Dickinson, 30, from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, shared a photo from the girls’ night out on Instagram before her former best friend.

Despite being best friends for over five years, the bride-to-be quickly kicked Amy out of her wedding, claiming she broke an “unspoken” rule.

Amy said: “I really don’t know why I wasn’t invited. Maybe she was just looking for a reason to uninvite me and I’ve never spoken to her since this happened.

In preparation for what was a much anticipated weekend and the wedding she planned to attend; Amy had paid more than $2,500.

This included securing flights, accommodation and dresses for the upcoming lavish occasion.

After looking glamorous for the girls’ party, which took place on Hamilton Island, the mood took an unexpected turn after Amy unknowingly broke a rule when she shared a photo of the party and was quickly criticized for it – although others did the same.

The bride’s mother also got involved, saying she should have known about the rule without being told.

After a heated argument, Amy was reportedly kicked out of her hotel room and feared she would not be able to access her plane tickets home.

Shortly after the girls’ weekend, Amy was relieved to learn she hadn’t been invited to the wedding, as the thought of spending more time with the bride would be a “nightmare”.

Since then, Amy has blocked almost everyone she was at the bachelorette party with on social media and never spoke to them again.

Speaking about her “horror story”, Amy said: “Overall it was a horrible experience which left me traumatised.

“I never want to go through anything like that again. The behavior I witnessed was truly disgusting. We were practically best friends, as we had been friends for several years.

“I was glad I wasn’t invited because after the events that happened, I never would have been able to attend anyway.

“I spent over AUD1,500 (£773) on the wedding and over AUD1,000 (£515) on the hen party and have never spoken to him since.”
