A pet lover has revealed his shock after a groomer gave him the wrong pet to take home.
The dog’s anonymous owner shared the story reddit Where they explain that they went to pick up their pet from their local salon in Michigan, where they have been a regular for the past five years.
They thought the pet that was given to them was their dog, but it was actually someone else’s dog.
But when they told the story, they admitted that they didn’t realize the mix-up until they took the dog to their car.
However, social media users were dumbfounded, wondering how they had mixed up their dog with someone else’s.

Eventually the dog’s owner was reunited with the right dog and saw the funny side of confusion (pictured)
The owner explained how the accidental switch happened during a recent visit to the groomer.
“When I deliver it (I’ve been going to the same place for 5 years),’ they explained, ‘I don’t give specific discounts, I just let the owner make it look good.
Today I went to pick her up and she was a new girl working. You handed me the dog.
The poster went on to explain that the dog was the same size as theirs, the same color, just a different haircut.
They continued, “I put her in my car, wrapped the blanket around her and noticed she wasn’t my dog.”
I’m sure it’s happened before on groomers. We actually found it very funny and wrong on both sides. They added.
They later explained that their car was only a few steps away from the store, and that they were talking to someone while holding the dog.
They put the dog in the passenger seat, walked around the car and got behind the wheel before realizing the dog they had taken was not theirs.
While they found the incident funny, many other dog lovers wondered how they could have gone so long without realizing that the dog they were holding was not theirs.
He took the anonymous poster to Reddit to explain that they had mixed the two animals at a dog breeder
“How do you not know your dog,” someone asked.
Another said: “The hell I even went back to your car to take the picture without noticing.”
A third asked: “How do you get to the car?”
I can’t even imagine. My dogs recognize me and go crazy when I come in to pick them up. Someone wrote that the wrong dog was giving you a big side eye.
One added, “I am most disappointed in you for not recognizing your dog.”

To be fair, I know every inch of this dog. I arranged most of her prime life for her, and it wasn’t until she was a little older that I went to a convenience store.
‘And you didn’t realize that until you were in the car??’ I know my dog very well. He’s my best friend!
I can look at my dog’s a** and know if it’s the same or not. Maybe you can blindfold me and I know his smell, someone sneered.
Meanwhile, one of the dogs’ groomers mentioned a time when they were in a similar situation.
I am a dog groomer and have only done this once. Both are Miniature Schnauzers, both have exactly the same haircut, except one was a boy and the other was a girl.
I wouldn’t have guessed because the person I sent home with these people who ended up being the wrong one was more excited to see them than their actual dog.
