A female traveler has revealed her “life hack” to get an upgrade to business class for just $25.
Steph was flying home to the Gold Coast from Melbourne with Rex Airlines and secured the affordable upgrade with business lounge access.
He received the business ticket simply by bidding on it on the day of the flight, and has been lucky enough to win the bid three times.
“I did it again, I got an upgrade to business class for $25,” Steph said in a video.
He also previously upgraded his seat with Virgin on a flight from the Gold Coast to Bali; however this was much more expensive and cost $420 since it was an international flight.

“I’m going to the salon right now, so let’s discuss what it’s like,” he said.
‘Not going to lie, it was a glorified staff room with Nutri-Grain and other cereals. The coffee machine was awesome so I had my double espresso with a banana.
‘Once I got on my flight there was no one next to me, which means you could have bid on this flight. We could have been friends for $25.
He ordered a ‘healthy plate’, a salad with avocado, poached egg, hazelnuts and chickpeas, along with a fruit plate. Steph also got a hot muffin.
‘Remember: bid on your business class flight at the last minute and put down the lowest amount. It will work!’ she said.
In a follow-up video, he explained in detail how to bid for business seats.
“Most airlines will send you an email saying ‘upgrade to business class by making an offer,'” he said.
‘My theory is that if you bid on the day of your flight or at the last minute, all the people who were outbid or who don’t have business class would have given up.
‘So if you do it last minute, they’ll think ‘well the flight leaves in an hour or two, how much is $25′. I’ve done this twice on Rex domestic flights and I’ve done it on Virgin Flying Economy’.

Typically, the airline will send emails reminding customers to make an offer; however, travelers can simply log into their account and bid through the airline’s website.
