Maintaining hair color is an expensive and time-consuming task, which is why one woman regularly travels to Mexico to keep her luscious locks in good condition, claiming it is worth it financially.
TikTok user Shey lives in Seattle, Washington, but she’ll take advantage of trips to Guadalajara, Mexico, to visit her grandmother and get her hair dyed at the same time, and the price is comparable.
“I travel from Seattle to Mexico every three months to get my hair done,” she shared in a recent clip. posted on TikTok.
“I’m actually six months late because my grandmother came to the United States to visit me,” he shared.
Shey said her hairstylist works from a room in her house, but she has never been able to find a colorist as good as her.

“I started going to her before the pandemic and she just makes the right color,” he explained.
Shey previously shared her travel day traveling to Guadalajara and getting her hair done.
“She’s literally so amazing,” Shey gushed. “No one in Seattle can make the color she makes me.”
Shey revealed that he has been visiting the woman since 2019 and has not missed any quarterly appointments since then.
She said: “Even though I always go blonde, she always leaves my hair feeling very healthy.”
“I always tell her I want my hair lighter or darker and she does her thing,” he continued, adding, “I don’t even show her a photo.”
He added that he also asks his hairdresser to cut “half” of his hair.
“Haircuts in Seattle are very expensive” she pointed out. “I refuse to pay Seattle prices.”
Shey said another big reason she waits to cut and color her hair in Mexico is because her hairdresser studied at a cosmetology school in Mexico and knows how to cut hair well.
In a comment, Shey said she spends an average of $500 on a round trip to Guadalajara, but finds it worth it because the quality of the hair appointment is much better.

The social media star explained in a video that she began traveling around the world to Istanbul to get hair extensions, and insisted she can save more than $3,000 each time.
The influencer explained that although she ‘loved’ her salon in the United States, she was forced to look elsewhere after they announced they would increase their prices last year.
She explained that they started charging $4,450 for three rows of 24-inch extensions, which was too expensive for her.
“I realized that a lot of the hair inspiration photos I had saved on Instagram were taken by this stylist who lived in Türkiye,” she continued.
“So just out of curiosity I went into his DMs to get a quote and tell me why this guy said he would do my dream hair for $500.”
He said he paid about $800 for the flight and another $350 for his week-long stay at an Airbnb, saying the trip was still far less than the $4,450 he would have had to spend if he had done it in the United States.
