A woman revealed that she was wearing a leggings to the gym because she was wearing leggings that made other women “uncomfortable”.
Kerry Rose Schwartz 37, from California, took to TikTok to detail her experience going to a women’s fitness center, claiming she was shamed for her gym clothes.
The creator said she was wearing body-cinching leggings when the gym owner asked for a “quick chat.”
She lamented about the situation for her to her more than 153,000 followers and begged for their advice as she revealed that she was told she made other fitness fanatics “offend”.

She was confused when the gym owner approached her because she was only wearing her daily gym outfit – sneakers, leggings, and a sports bra.
She captioned the video, “I felt ashamed in the gym because of my dress code.”

“I felt like something was wrong because the conversation got uncomfortable so quickly,” Kelly said, referring to the conversation the manager had asked to have.
They said, “I’m really sorry we have to have this conversation, but it looks like you’re making some women feel uncomfortable with the leggings you’re wearing,” she recalled her conversation with the owner.
Kerry explained that she was initially “confused” and “shocked” and felt embarrassed after the talk.
“I almost felt ashamed even though I shouldn’t be,” she said, before adding that the gym should be a “safe place” without “judgment.”
“I wasn’t wearing anything inappropriate,” she said.
The creator also noted that she struggled a lot with body image and confidence issues in her past.
“I’ve had body dysmorphia and have been comfortable in gyms my whole life,” she explained, noting that it was hard for her to find a fitness center where she wasn’t comfortable.

“When I found a gym that I felt comfortable in and really enjoyed, it changed my life,” Keri added.
She then described the experience of being shamed while trying to make her sweat as “really disappointing”.
Keri said the event, which saw her called out to wear figure-hugging pants, made her never want to go back to the gym.
“They said something to me that made me feel so uncomfortable that I never wanted to go back there again,” she said.
Keri said the manager told her that a co-worker at the gym said her leggings were distracting and “humiliating.”
The creator went on to lament, noting that she could understand if she was wearing a “thong,” but she couldn’t understand why workout pants didn’t fit.
