It left a keen runner with a horrible ‘second head’ when she slipped on some black ice during a workout – and has since been compared to ‘sloths from the Ice Age’.
Rachel Bieber, 26 — who was six miles into her morning run in Chicago, Illinois last month — said she first stood up and “felt fine” after falling and hitting her forehead on the tarmac.
The marketing worker even thought the onlookers were acting dramatic when she noticed they looked “shocked and scared”.
But when she pulled out her phone and thought – Rachel realized how “terrifying” the injury must have been.
Stunning photos taken just five minutes after the accident show a huge bump visibly protruding from her eyebrow – it was so large that some noted it ‘could only happen in animation’.

Even the marketing worker (pictured) thought onlookers were acting dramatic when she noticed they looked “shocked and scared”.
“I didn’t feel dizzy, I was able to walk, so I thought everyone around me was overreacting,” Rachel explained.
I was confused, because I could clearly feel pressure in my head, but it didn’t feel as bad as a bump.
“I’ve never seen this happen to anyone before, and I was a little worried it was something in the brain.”
Shocked, I quickly rushed to A&E where the CT scan thankfully showed no serious damage had been done.
“The spot was in the shadows, which is why I didn’t see the black ice,” she added, recalling the “rapid” fall.
“No part of the track had any (visible) ice at all.”
Rachel is now – more than two weeks later – still recovering at home and developed a black eye as a result of the injury.
However, she says the massive bump is slowly but surely shrinking.

Rachel, who is training for a marathon, admits she was “more angry” than hurt by the accident.
“I was really worried that I had cut myself,” she said. But fortunately, I’m back in my training and will be able to run the marathon in May.
I’m still very confident about running. I will say that I haven’t been on that part of the track since the accident, and I’m definitely hesitant to run in that area of the track.
This is “definitely the worst injury” she’s ever had while running – but Rachel says she will not hold back from taking part in the sport she loved 13 years ago.
She — and social media users — found the situation tense.

“All the comments (on TikTok) were so funny to me, and I’m really glad I could joke about them,” Rachel added.

“Ma’am, did your brain come out of your skull because that’s the biggest bump I’ve ever seen,” said one concerned user.
Another added: ‘This is what I thought would happen as a kid if I hit my head. like cartoons.
A third said: Are you okay now?
“I don’t know if you can laugh about it now but my friend said (you look like) Mr. Ice Age and now I can’t help but ignore it.”
