‘I should be dead’: 19-year-old calls for capital punishment after murdering Good Samaritan while high on PCP

A 19-year-old Texas man who was in prison for shooting a Good Samaritan tried to avoid a robbery by saying he deserves the death penalty.

“What I did was wrong,” said Justin Jones. “I killed that man. I think I should get nothing less than the death penalty.

Dallas-born Jones confessed to police that he murdered Donald Morrow II, 36, outside Sherlock’s Baker St. Pub and Grill on October 17 after committing a series of robberies while high on the infamous hallucinogenic PCP.

His alleged accomplice, 17-year-old Tierra Winters, confessed to driving the getaway car that night. Police arrested the couple last week after receiving information about their whereabouts.

During a prison interview with the station WFAA Jones said last Thursday that he will take full responsibility for what happened.

“I’m here for the manslaughter,” he said. “They know I did it. Everyone knows I did it. I did it.’

The fateful night began when Jones took several tablets of commonly available anti-anxiety medication Xanax. He followed that by smoking some marijuana, which he said was laced with PCP

“It started and then I don’t remember much,” said Jones. “It was like I passed out. It was like sleeping. I do it, but I don’t know what I’m doing. ‘

He then ran into his friend Zadarian Montgomery, who told him to convince him to become involved in a robbery outside a convenience store on Sunnyvale Street. Jones pointed a gun at the victim, demanding money and the man’s wallet Dallas Morning Star reported.

The pair then drove off, with Jones behind the wheel, police said.

Jones claims he is passed out and can’t remember what came next, but police say he met Winters and she drove him around Dallas and robbed several people along the way.

At the end of the robbery, authorities said that Jones approached Morrow, Donnie Bullock, and Bullock’s girlfriend shortly after 1 a.m. in the parking lot of the bar on Park Lane and North Central Expressway.

The man pointed a gun at Bullock and demanded his wallet. Morrow tried to intervene and hit Jones, who then fatally shot him.

Blackout: Jones says he has little recollection of the October 17 events, Bud admits he deserves capital punishment for his crimes.

Jones said he doesn’t remember anything about the incident except that someone hit him and the sound of a shot.

“After the shot, it’s like I’m dreaming,” he said. “I don’t even remember how I got home.”

When he woke up, he said Montgomery told him that a bullet was missing from the gun and he knew then that he should have hurt someone, but he didn’t bother checking or reporting himself.

“I don’t even remember his face what happened to him,” Jones said from prison. “I don’t even remember walking up to him and waving a gun at him – all I remember is a shot.”

“This man is dead without a mother, I can’t even explain it for some s ***,” he said.

Donald Morrow’s mother, Margie Morrow, said she wanted to see her son’s murderer executed.

“I really believe there will come a time and a place where what you do – you will literally be affected by it,” she told the Dallas Morning News.

In an interview with Fox4, Jones said he regrets his actions, but he is not asking his victim’s family to accept his apologies. Instead, the 19-year-old said he can now only pray.

“I should be dead,” he said. “I don’t even want to live anymore … I don’t want to be here.

“I feel like I took this man’s life and should be my life [taken]… I’m not saying I’m going back to my cell and hanging myself up. But I’m saying what I did was so damn that the judge had to give me nothing but the death penalty and make it quick, “he said.

Jones is being held on bail for a total of over $ 1 million. Winters also remains behind bars on $ 1 million bail.

Jones has emphatically denied that the purpose of his tearful confession is for people to feel sorry for him.

“Please don’t feel sorry for me. I don’t even want my family to feel sorry for me, ”he said.
