A mum-of-two has shared how she shrank her ‘menopause belly’ and saw her energy skyrocket in just six weeks through some simple lifestyle changes.
Rhian Allen, from Sydney’s northern beaches, noticed she had gained “a bit of belly fat” as a result of the menopause and decided to give her health a quick boost.
He had three goals: lower cholesterol, lose belly fat, and increase his energy.
It was never about losing weight; in fact, the health entrepreneur doesn’t even own a scale.
“I realized I had gained belly fat when I tried on a pair of jeans I hadn’t worn for a while and they didn’t fit like they used to,” Rhian told FEMAIL.
‘Abdominal fat around menopause is common due to hormonal changes, reduced metabolism and even higher levels of stress, which can lead to increased cortisol production.
‘I also know how dangerous visceral fat (fat around the abdomen) can be for our health: it is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and other health problems. Knowing this, I realized I needed to act.”
Rhian committed to six weeks on her own Zing Wellness Program to the letter: a comprehensive platform that focuses on key areas such as nutrition, fitness, women’s health, mental well-being, education and community support.

The meals were gut-healthy, anti-inflammatory, and high in protein and included things like frittatas, poached eggs, and stir-fried chicken.
Rhian’s changes were simple; anyone can do the same.
He committed to eating at least 90g of protein a day with the help of protein shakes and followed his meal plans.

“I worked out three or four times a week, plus I walked every day and also swam a couple of times,” he said.
Rhian also made sure to get at least eight hours of sleep a night, turning off her phone at 9pm and focusing on managing her stress ahead of silly season.
“I don’t have a scale so I can’t tell you a number (but I think it would be between five and six kilos),” Rhian said.
‘I am very excited with the results, not only in terms of appearance but also how much better I feel overall.
‘My energy levels have skyrocketed, I feel stronger than ever and the quality of my sleep has improved dramatically. Additionally, my cholesterol levels, which had been slowly rising (a common symptom of menopause), are now significantly lower.’

Rhian attributes her success to the programme’s focus on gut-healthy recipes and protein-rich meals.
“I’m in the best shape of my life and the best thing is that I didn’t have to deprive myself of delicious food or endure a painful process to get here,” said the Healthy Mummy founder.
‘Beyond food, I also prioritized meditation and incorporated 15 minutes of strength training with dumbbells daily.
‘I also incorporate a daily Zing Wellbeing protein and gut health shot, which I make by mixing fresh turmeric, pineapple, ginger and our organic protein powder with water. It’s the perfect protein-rich snack for your gut!
‘Meal prepping has also been a game changer. It saves time, helps me stay organized and keeps costs down, making it easier to stay consistent and stress-free.’
