An NHS worker burst out laughing after ordering her first Too Good to Go bag at Starbucks and receiving a disappointing surprise.

Tiegan, from Cumbria, bought the item hoping to receive sweets and a good range of food from the cafe giant.

The Too Good to Go app lets you buy bags of leftovers from stores, hotels and restaurants in a bid to minimize food waste, but the contents are a mystery until you collect them.

The bag cost him £5.50, which is about the cost of a hot meal at Starbucks, and he bought it at Lillyhall service station.

But the 22-year-old was left amused after looking into the bag and pulling out two identical sandwiches and four chicken Caesar wraps.

“I bought my first Too Good to Go bag at Starbucks and I was laughing after seeing what was inside,” Tiegan said. ‘In total, there were six articles. Two ham sandwiches and four other things.

‘When I pulled one item out of the bag, it was a chicken Caesar wrap. Then I pulled out another, then another, then another. It was like an endless supply of Caesar wraps.

“Of course, I’m aware that Too Good To Go is food that’s approaching its sell-by date, but it’s also food that they haven’t sold at the end of their shift.”

In total, the value of the bag amounted to around £25.60, meaning Tiegan received more than £20 worth of free Starbucks food.

Despite not enjoying chicken wraps, the NHS worker saw the funny side. Tiegan said, “As a first-time buyer, reading the description of the grab bag states that you can get a variety of paninis, sweets, bagels and juices.”

‘So I thought, “Oh, that’s a good variety.” He made me laugh as he continued pulling out chicken rolls. The food definitely didn’t go to waste and we thoroughly enjoyed it.’

TikTok users quickly laughed along with the shopper and talked about their own experiences with the app.

A third wrote: “I have a bag full of croissants.” A fourth commented: ‘Look on the bright side. Imagine it was six chicken Caesar rolls lmao. (sic)

Despite receiving a bag she didn’t like, Tiegan wasn’t afraid to try the app again.

She added: “I think I would shop again to see what other items you can get as this is my first time doing it.”
