I ordered an elaborate dress for my vow renewal, but what I got was nothing like the photos.
- A woman ordered an $80 AUD dress online
- She was devastated with the result.
A woman was bitterly disappointed after receiving the ‘elaborate dress’ she ordered online for her vow renewal ceremony.
She explained that she “was left in tears” after trying on the $80 AUD dusty pink dress when it arrived.
An image of the woman in her new dress shows the mismatched lining, the odd proportion, and a very strange neckline.
The dress she expected to receive was much more luxurious.
The woman bought the dress on the ‘ladywears’ website, but now believes the images may have been taken from a designer’s site.

The dress she received was very different from what she had ordered, but she admitted that she should have thought better of it before ordering the $80 dress.
An image from the store’s website showed a delicate lace maxi dress in a stunning blush pink color.
The lower part of the dress protruded from the skin-tight bodice in the manner of a “princess”, generously piling up on the floor.
Disheartened, the young woman decided to post photos of the dress on a “what I asked for vs what I got” Facebook page.
‘This was just a terrible trial on my behalf – wishful thinking and trying to save money took control. I’m going to buckle up and buy a nice dress on Amazon,’ she admitted.

The bodice was shaped differently and the lining was very uncomfortable.
‘Thanks for laughing through this with me guys.’
Before revealing that he had tried to research the brand before purchasing.
‘I should have known better. I googled the website and he told me they were legit, and a lot of the reviews led me to believe it.’
People had left glowing recommendations.
“We bought this dress with not very high expectations and boy were we surprised,” said one woman.
‘The dress is of great quality and beautiful. My daughter looked amazing,” she added.
Hundreds of people took the opportunity to comment and like the post.
Is it as spicy as it seems? By the way, you are adorable and I hope you find the perfect dress for your big day,” one woman laughed.
‘Okay, it’s happened to me before too lmao. the good news is you didn’t spend too much,” said another.

The lining of the dress was only pulled down half way and the dress did not puddle with the flow as I expected.
Some people gave him some advice, starting with ‘price is usually an indicator of quality’.
“Unless you pay at least $1,000, you won’t get a dress like that.”
“I know it sounds like a dream but you will never find a dress over 500 for 35.99 it’s a scam,” said another.
But others were more positive.
‘There are many great dresses on Amazon for under $100. That’s where I bought mine for my renovation a few years back. And I have prime, so I bought and returned quite a few dresses until I found one that I fell in love with. Good luck,’ said one.
‘Try Shein’ said another.
Another agreed: “I received three wedding guest dresses from them a few summers ago and they were decent.” It is enough to look at the photos of buyers in the reviews, if any.
