A male Reddit user flushed his “great job opportunity” down the drain after clogging a toilet in the office’s unisex bathroom.
The original poster (OP) shared the story of how he lost his job before he started in a Reddit post February 12.
“I had practically gotten the job in a previous interview and was only here to complete the onboarding paperwork,” he wrote.
“I got really excited because the onboarding questions were about accommodations I would like in this job.”
Unfortunately, things started to go wrong after the quasi-employee drank some of the office coffee.
A Reddit user who almost landed a “great” job was not asked to return after clogging the office bathroom.
The problem started after someone in the office offered him coffee. She drank it “very quickly” and it made her need to quickly go to the bathroom.
“Everything was going well, but first they offered me coffee and of course I accepted it because I love free things,” she wrote.
‘This coffee was so good and I drank it very quickly. Then of course the coffee did what coffee does and before I knew it I had to use their bathroom.’
The man admitted that he was able to “let it all out” and that there was “a lot of excess” in his system that morning.
“I also needed a lot of toilet paper to wipe my ass,” he wrote.
After washing his hands and admiring the “really nice bathroom,” he returned to his desk to finish the paperwork.
Unfortunately, the forgetful man didn’t remember to flush the toilet, and that’s when things seemed to have gone wrong.
The man admitted that he was able to “let it all out” and that there was “a lot of excess” in his system that morning.
After going to the bathroom, he admired the bathroom and washed his hands. However, she forgot to flush the toilet when she was done.
An employee entered the bathroom and found the OP’s excrement in the toilet.
‘I looked at the door when I heard the toilet flush as she tried to get rid of it so she could leave… but I didn’t hear the bowl clearly, I just heard the bowl fill with water,’ he wrote.
The woman was “not happy” and told her boss what she discovered in the bathroom.
“I was the only new person in the building, so of course everyone knew it was me,” the OP wrote.
“I tried to pretend I was on my computer the whole time and they didn’t yell at me or anything, they just sorted it out.”
The employees managed to find a plunger, but according to the OP, “a lot of toilet water spilled onto the bathroom floor.”

After the man finished his paperwork, he handed it to the boss, who was not very friendly to him.
“I finished my paperwork, but never heard back from them, even after trying to follow up,” the almost new employee wrote.
She has since blamed “coffee” and being distracted by the pretty bathroom with “a sliding oak door.”
Other Reddit users have apparently disparaged him, with one person asking him if he was “an animal” since he pooped in a job interview.
Several Reddit users have criticized the man for pooping in a job interview and found the story hilarious, some even believing the incident didn’t really happen.
‘Who forgets to flush the toilet? ESPECIALLY when you’re trying to get hired at that workplace lol,” one Reddit user commented.
“I wouldn’t hire you either. If you don’t remember to clean up after yourself, I can’t imagine how forgetful you’d be at work.”
Other commenters have written that they wouldn’t hire him and called him an “idiot” for forgetting.
Some users believe his ‘bullshit story’ is not true, but the OP has repeatedly written that it is.
Another user said that this incident is not the OP’s fault and that the employer was wrong for ‘not having a plunger.’
