‘I have no home to go’: Bizarre moment Biden insists staying at his beach house is NOT a vacation because the Secret Service is upgrading his other Delaware home

  • President Biden, uninvited, told reporters after mass in Rehoboth on Sunday that he had “no home to go to” suggesting his visits to the beach were not a vacation.
  • On Monday, Biden said in Philadelphia: ‘It’s good to be almost home’
  • Biden revealed in April that his longtime primary residence in Wilmington was undergoing security upgrades. He hasn’t spent a night there for a few months

Joe Biden says his recent stays at his Rehoboth Beach home aren’t vacations since he can’t return to his Wilmington home while it’s undergoing a security upgrade.

Speaking to reporters Sunday in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, following a mass service, the president said off the cuff, “I don’t have a home to go to.”

Almost every weekend, Biden flees from Washington, DC to Delaware — and spends all of that time at his home in Wilmington, Delaware. It has, however, been a few months since he last spent a night at his main residence as the Secret Service carries out security upgrades there.

“So I have nowhere to go when I come to Delaware except here right now,” Biden said, speaking from his home in Rehoboth. “I’m only here for a day.”

Biden’s bizarre comments had reporters wondering if he was suggesting on Sunday that he was homeless.

He first spoke to reporters about the security improvements in April – the same month he announced his re-election bid – as he drove home to the beach after returning from a trip in Ireland.

Biden arrived on the Delaware coast on Saturday evening after spending the start of the day in Florida assessing the damage caused by Hurricane Idalia. He was supposed to spend Labor Day weekend in Rehoboth, but changed his plans after the storm passed.

The president is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Monday to speak at an AFL-CIO rally.
