A woman has been living with what she claims is a severe allergy to orgasms, but has never been formally diagnosed because doctors don’t believe her.
Kate shocked Australian radio duo Will & Woody with the little-known condition she’s been experiencing between the sheets.
During a segment on the “condition you have that no one believes in,” she explained how she went into anaphylactic shock “every time” she had an orgasm.
“I can’t breathe, my eyes are swollen, I can’t see and I have to call Triple-O. I have an EpiPen… it’s a big deal,” Kate told the KIISSFM stars.
She first noticed something was wrong during a one-night stand.
“That’s how I found out and it was very embarrassing,” she said.
“I actually thought I had a reaction to his cologne or something. It was actually the first time that happened to me and it was really embarrassing.”
At first, Kate said she didn’t know what was wrong with her, but she “made the connection later” every time she experienced an orgasm.

“I went to the doctor… I ended up going to an allergist but I never got a formal diagnosis,” she explained.
“They asked me if I was allergic to latex and all this ridiculous stuff.”
Kate said she has been able to keep her allergies under control behind closed doors.
You should keep an EpiPen nearby in case you are at risk of a life-threatening reaction.
“If I go on vacation or something, I always have my EpiPen at home. At home, I know where it is because, honestly, I can’t hold it in all the time,” she said.
“It was really awkward at first, but my partner understands perfectly and supports me a lot.”

Many listeners were stunned by the woman’s secretive status, with one joking: “There’s no way she can fake it.”
While others confessed: “This is my worst nightmare.”
According to the National Institutes of Health, there are reports of people suffering from postorgasmic illness syndrome (POIS), an extremely rare condition in which a person develops flu- and allergy-like symptoms after orgasm.
Common symptoms include fatigue, weakness, headache, fever, mood changes, memory or concentration problems, nasal congestion, sore throat, and itchy eyes.
