A woman revealed that she suffered from severe ‘pregnancy nose’, which caused her nose to double in size, making her completely unrecognizable.
Towards the end of her first trimester, Terese Wood, 24, noticed her nose was starting to change in size but at first she didn’t think much about it, until it changed drastically from its original size and shape.
As the weeks went by, the US-based creator noticed that the texture of her skin, hair, and eyebrows started to transform, too.
By the end of her pregnancy, the mother felt “disgusted” and did not “recognize” herself when looking in the mirror.

As the weeks went by, the US-based creator noticed that the texture of her skin, hair, and eyebrows started to transform, too.
In an effort to shed light on the situation, she decided to share her story on TikTok, where it garnered more than 15.4 million views and 1.8 million likes.
“The changes made me disgusted,” said Tyreece, who works as a live support expert.
Dealing with your body changes during pregnancy is really tough, but looking in the mirror and not recognizing yourself is frustrating.
“That’s why there aren’t many pictures of me being pregnant,” she explained.
She added that she had never heard of any other woman discussing her symptoms and feeling lonely.
I haven’t seen anyone talk about most of the symptoms I had throughout my pregnancy.
I thought all the changes would be in my weight and hormones for sure.
“But actually, the texture of my skin and hair has changed, one of my eyebrows has become more prominent, I’ve gained 100 pounds and my skin has gotten darker too.”
Surprisingly, Terese says her partner and other family members didn’t notice the change in her appearance until after she was born.
She said: ‘I asked my husband and family members if they noticed a difference and they always said either no, or maybe a little bit.
My husband only pointed this out after our son was born and we were looking at hospital photos.

Surprisingly, Terese (pictured before her pregnancy) says her partner and other family members didn’t notice the change in her appearance until after she was born.
“That’s when I realized my nose was usually much smaller.”
Fortunately, her nose returned to its normal size a month after the arrival of her baby boy.
In the clip, Tyreece revealed a bunch of photos before and during her pregnancy that left users shocked, with many even struggling to believe it was the same person.
“This is two different people, not ready for this stage of pregnancy,” one person wrote.
Another user added: “I will get a replacement!!”
“The pregnancy nose is as real as it was on my third baby, and it never gets better,” Kay said. (sic)
“Aries really humbles us ladies,” said one person.

One user commented, “I don’t think this is the same person.”
Another person said, “The gasping method.”
One user wrote: “Posting TikTok was supposed to be a jab at myself.”
The mom explained that she wanted to share her story to help others have a good laugh and connect with her.
She added, “I thought it was funny, so maybe other people will too.”
Many people don’t believe it, or say it must be fake or edited.
“Some women tell their stories, and some thank me for putting something real out there.”
The trend that sees women sharing “pregnancy noses” has taken over the video-sharing platform.
This phenomenon sees a woman’s nose expand and change shape before giving birth.

According to Professor Adam Taylor, Director of the Clinical Anatomy Learning Center and Professor of Anatomy at Lancaster University, a facial change may be ‘more noticeable for some women’.
Writing ConversationHe said: “The reason it occurs is due to the dramatic increases in hormone levels during pregnancy – particularly due to the increase in estrogen, which relaxes blood vessels in all tissues of the body.
“This allows more blood to enter the tissues of the nose, causing it to stretch and change its shape — and to appear larger and more bloated.”
Prof Taylor said significant increases in hormone levels can also cause nosebleeds and a stuffy, runny or itchy nose, which is medically known as pregnancy rhinitis.
This usually affects about one in five pregnant women.
One 2013 study published in Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology Found among 117 pregnant women, 39 percent of them suffered from rhinitis during pregnancy.
However, he noted, “there is nothing to worry about,” as nasal growth “usually recovers” within six weeks of birth, once hormones return to normal levels.
