Hunter Valley bus crash: Heartbroken father of one of the victims vows to launch class action lawsuit against bus company following tragedy that killed 10 people
The father of a man who died in the Hunter Valley wedding bus crash will launch a class action lawsuit against bus operators involved in the fatal crash that killed 10 people and injured 25 others.
Adam Bray, father of Zach, 29, said he would take legal action against Linq Buslines.
The company owned the 57-seater Volvo bus that traveled to Singleton and carried passengers returning from the wedding of Mitchell Gaffney and Maddy Edsell.
Appearing on Sunrise on Friday, Mr Bray said he hoped the legal fight would protect future families.
“It’s bittersweet for us, I can’t bring my son back, but I can stop other people in the future from sitting here with you and having these conversations,” he said. declared.
When approached, Linq Buslines declined to comment.

Mr Bray is also advocating for a national task force to review bus safety standards, including the introduction of mandatory seat belts.
Within two months of losing his son, he started a group called STOP Bus Tragedies which currently has a petition pushing for an urgent review of seat belt requirements for all vehicles on Australian roads.
The petition currently has 2,467 signatures and is open until August 31.
“The day after my son was buried, I had been to six funerals by then, you read in the media that simple technology would have prevented that from happening,” he said.
“All of this just creates anger, you have grief and trauma because you lost your son…and in the case of other families, their daughters and wives.”

Mr Bray’s son was one of 10 passengers who were killed after bus driver Brett Andrew Button, 58, allegedly lost control while navigating the Hunter Expressway roundabout in June.
