Hunter Biden returns to federal court on Thursday to face multiple charges of evading $1.4 million in taxes.

The 53-year-old son of scandal-plagued President Joe Biden is set to appear in Los Angeles for jury selection for his second trial in a year in which sordid details of his life have been under scrutiny.

In June, he was convicted in Delaware of three felony counts for failing to disclose he was addicted to crack cocaine when he bought a gun and now faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.

Hunter’s latest legal jeopardy comes during his father’s final months in the White House, with just 61 days to go before the general election between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Hunter Biden criminal tax trial begins in California with jury selection

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior Political Reporter

Hunter Biden’s criminal tax trial begins today in California.

Jury selection for the case involving President Joe Biden’s son stems from a years-long investigation by special counsel David Weiss, who charged the first son with three felonies and six misdemeanors.

The allegations, to which Hunter has pleaded not guilty, include alleging that the first son, 54, owed $1.4 million in taxes, which he had already paid.

Weiss says in the incident, Hunter “engaged in a four-year scheme to fail to pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019… and to evade tax assessment for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns in or about February 2020.”

The case will begin in the United States District Court for the Central District of California and will be presided over by Judge Mark Scarsi.

JD Vance mocks ‘ridiculous’ Liz Cheney for supporting Kamala Harris

Charlie Spiering, Senior Political Reporter

Vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance on Wednesday ridiculed former Rep. Liz Cheney for endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

Vance focused on Cheney’s support for wars in the Middle East, including Afghanistan and Iraq.

“This is a person whose entire career has been about sending other people’s children to fight and die for her military conflicts and her ridiculous ideas that we were somehow going to turn Afghanistan into a prosperous liberal democracy and so Liz Cheney was willing to kill thousands of her children,” Vance said, referring to victims of wars that began during her father Dick Cheney’s vice presidency during the George W. Bush administration.

Vance reacted to Cheney’s support during a Turning Point USA rally in Arizona, speaking with Charlie Kirk. He lumped both Harris and Cheney together as part of the political establishment that supports foreign wars.

“Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney are interesting partners,” he said. “They get richer when America’s sons and daughters are going to die. They get richer when America loses wars instead of winning them.”

Cheney expressed her views on the 2024 presidential race during an event at Duke University on Wednesday, arguing that as a constitutional conservative she

Trump to outline economic platform that includes recommendations from Elon Musk

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior Political Reporter

Donald Trump’s speech outlining his economic proposals on Thursday will include recommendations from billionaire Elon Musk.

The policies would introduce even more aggressive regulatory rollbacks than Trump implemented during his first term in the White House and would likely dramatically rescind unspent funding allocated by President Joe Biden’s administration.

Musk recommends the federal government create a government efficiency commission to conduct “a full financial and performance audit of the entire federal government” and make “recommendations for dramatic reform.”

The outline of Trump’s economic platform will be unveiled during his remarks at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday afternoon.

“Can’t wait. There is so much waste and unnecessary regulation in government that needs to go,” Musk tweeted this week amid speculation about his role in Trump’s economic policies.

Trump has an advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris among voters who think the former president would do a better job of handling the economic and inflationary crisis.

Trump shares wild theory about upcoming debate with Kamala Harris and how ABC News is plotting to help her

Donald Trump has unleashed a wild theory about his upcoming debate with Kamala Harris, claiming that ABC News will help the vice president cheat.

The former president was speaking during a Fox News debate on Wednesday, when he predicted the Disney-owned television network would provide Harris with debate questions ahead of their face-off.

“They’re going to get the questions, I’ve heard they’re going to get the questions ahead of time,” Trump told Fox host Sean Hannity in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. “I’m not sure that’s going to help her very much.”

Trump and Harris are scheduled to debate for the first time in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 10, with ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis.

Trump said he only agreed to the debate on the “unfair” network because the vice president did not agree to any other.

The ‘Nostradamus’ of presidential elections, who has correctly predicted almost every winner for 40 years, reveals his pick for 2024

Historian Allan Lichtman has finally revealed his prediction for the winner of the 2024 election, after determining that Kamala Harris has met critical objectives for victory.

The 77-year-old American University professor has developed his own electoral model that has correctly predicted every presidential winner since 1984.

It relies on an unorthodox system – one that ignores polls and pundits – based on what he calls the “13 Keys” to the White House, a model he developed in 1981 with his geophysicist friend Vladimir Keilis-Borok.

The model is based on 120 years of presidential election results and even allowed Allan to predict Trump’s unexpected victory in 2016 a month before the election.

He then used his tactic to correctly predict the outcome of the 2020 election.
