Hunter Biden’s $15,800 rental home in Malibu has been destroyed by the Pacific Palisades Fire, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Exclusive photos from DailyMail.com show what’s left of the chic property, previously a three-bedroom, three-bathroom idyll from the 1950s with panoramic views over the Pacific Ocean.
Earlier today, President Biden told a news conference that he was not sure, but that his son had been told the building had burned down before he was given hope that it had survived.
“It’s amazing what’s happening,” the 82-year-old president said earlier today during a news conference in Santa Monica, California.
‘My son lives here and his wife. They received a report yesterday that their house had probably burned to the ground.
“Today it looks like it might still be standing, but I can’t be sure.”
But the exclusive photos reveal that the $4 million home that Hunter, 54, shares with his wife Melissa Cohen, is one of more than 1,000 homes destroyed by the four out-of-control wildfires in LA County today.
Gone is the picturesque, white-painted building with floor-to-ceiling windows and in its place a charred mass of crumbling brickwork with only two chimneys still standing.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home was estimated to be worth $4.2 million, but DailyMail.com has learned Hunter rented it for $15,800 a month
The luxury rental once featured a gourmet kitchen and a “guest studio with a private balcony overlooking the ocean that creates the perfect artistic space.”
The studio was used by Hunter to work on the paintings he uses to finance his lifestyle, although any paintings that remain have also been wiped out.
Hunter and his wife Melissa have lived in Malibu for about three years after making the move from the canals in Venice, California
The fire also destroyed the neighboring house rented by the Hunter’s Secret Service protection division for an eye-watering $16,000 a month – the bill being footed by American taxpayers.
The house is one of several rental properties in Malibu that Hunter has occupied in recent years. His previous residence was also in the beach city.
That Spanish-style notepad cost him $20,000 a month, while his security staff was housed in an even more luxurious building next door – at a cost of $30,000 a month.
Despite losing his home to the raging bushfires, 2025 has started on a positive note for the First Son, who received a blanket pardon from his father last month for all the crimes he committed between 2014 and 2024.
That ended a string of long-running legal troubles — including a conviction in Delaware for lying on a gun purchase form and a tax case in Los Angeles.
Hunter had pleaded guilty to three tax crimes and six felonies in the California case and was scheduled to be sentenced last month.

The entrance to Hunter’s Malibu estate, which featured a gourmet kitchen and a “guest studio with a private balcony overlooking the ocean that creates the perfect artistic space” — which may have been a major selling point for the president’s son
According to the real estate listing, the home offers “enchanting ocean views” and “large windows that create the illusion of being completely immersed and in total harmony with nature.”
But after his father was pardoned, the case was dismissed and Hunter, who had served prison time, will remain a free man.
Hunter’s first home in Southern California was a $12,000-a-month rental in the Hollywood Hills, where he set up his art studio in 2019 for his new career. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom mid-century property had a pool and gated driveway.
He then moved into a $4.2 million canalside Venice Beach home in 2021. He and Melissa are said to have left the house in a state of “disarray and disrepair” and owe around $80,000 in outstanding rent, a source told DailyMail.com.
“Hunter and Melissa were terrible tenants. Not only did they charge the owner months of rent, they also left the house in a terrible condition,” the source said.
At the time, the imposing three-story building was owned by Jonathan Neman, CEO and co-founder of Sweetgreen.
The source added: “They had no respect for Jonathan and (his wife) Leora’s property at all.
“Melissa was rude and entitled. They destroyed the stereo equipment in the house and when someone came to fix it, they wouldn’t cooperate. They also left the place dirty.”
The former owner was reportedly able to move the property only after cleaning up the Bidends’ mess and was left out of pocket when Hunter short-changed him by more than three months of rent, the insider alleged.
Hunter, Melissa and Beau moved to Malibu later that year.
First Son and his wife Melissa Cohen have moved into a new $15,800-a-month Malibu apartment, DailyMail.com can reveal. And if Hunter moves, his Secret Service associates will have to step up as well. They bought a four-bedroom house across the street for $16,000 a month – financed by none other than the American taxpayer

The Hunter’s Secret Service contingent used was also destroyed by the fire
Hunter, 53, will live and make more art in the seaside home built by famed architect Ray Kappe, with his wife Melissa, 36, and baby Beau, 3.
The president’s son managed to cut his other childcare costs in a recent settlement with his former stripper baby mama Lunden Roberts.
Previously, Hunter paid Roberts $20,000 a month to support their child, Navy-Jean Roberts, after a lawsuit revealed the baby was his, despite his denials.
A June settlement reduced the amount to a reported $5,000 after Hunter told the court his earnings had fallen dramatically since his shady foreign business dealings in Ukraine, China, Russia and elsewhere became public.
Hunter’s previous home was described in the listings as a “resort-style” home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, high ceilings and a chef’s kitchen.
It was also said to have a “park-like” backyard and share the same amenities as its security staff’s then-mansion, such as a swimming pool, spa and BBQ area.
The cost of Secret Service accommodations while protecting the first family has been a controversial topic for previous presidents.
The agency paid at least $1.2 million to Donald Trump’s properties alone to protect the former president’s family, a Washington Post analysis found in late 2020.
While Trump was in the White House, agents paid $3,000 a month for a studio apartment in Washington, D.C. to provide security for Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.
The high rent was only to provide bathroom facilities for Secret Service agents after Kushner and Trump reportedly refused to let them use the restroom in their home.
Photos from Hunter’s new Malibu property listing show a mid-century modern interior with a master bedroom overlooking an expansive backyard and the ocean beyond.
Lime trees grow in the backyard, which also has a hot tub, with plenty of room for parties.
However, the now-sober Hunter’s get-togethers may now be tamer than his previous wild bashes documented on his abandoned laptop, including drug-fueled binges with prostitutes in a hot tub at a rented Malibu mansion in 2018.
