Brenda was sitting in the center aisle until the passenger next to her took her place. The man

A traveller has been criticised by hundreds of people for his “rude” and “selfish” act on board a flight.

Brenda, from Nebraska, was sitting comfortably in the center aisle until the passenger next to her took her place.

The “rude” man spread his legs wide enough for one of them to be on Brenda’s side and touch her leg, making her feel uncomfortable.

“Why do so many guys on planes think they can just expand and consume other people’s space?” she angrily wrote on Facebook alongside a photo of her leg.

“This guy has his entire left leg in my legroom. Come on! I don’t even know you! I hate not having an aisle seat.”

Hundreds of people were shocked by the man’s “audacity,” “entitlement” and disregard for cabin etiquette.

The photo shows the man’s leg leaning into Brenda’s space and many urged her to push or say something.

“Manspreading is almost as infuriating as mansplaining,” one commented.

“There’s nothing more unpleasant than a stranger’s leg touching yours. Especially if it’s a bare leg. A trigger for me!” said another.

“Yeah, why is it always the men who think they can invade your space? Be subtle and push him back into his own corner,” wrote a third.

Another agreed, saying Brenda should “fight back” to regain her space.

“I don’t move for men anymore. When I walk in public spaces, I don’t move out of their way anymore. Men expect us to move. No. Fuck that,” she wrote.

Another added: “That’s why I always try to get the aisle seat so I can move my legs.”

Another woman said that if she gets to the seat first, she “always puts her leg on the edge” and doesn’t move an inch to “claim her ground.”

While many agreed that the man’s act was “annoying,” they also blamed the airline for the lack of space.

“This is the fault of greedy airlines who make seats too close together,” said one.

Another wrote: “Greedy airlines are to blame. Seating space is ridiculously small. Large people find it impossible to fit and not everyone can afford to travel business class.”

Someone else said: “My ex is so tall that from pelvis to kneecap, he mathematically cannot keep his legs parallel unless he puts them over the back of the seat. Planes are a real pain. You should have asked him to request an exit row seat when boarding.”
