A violent fight broke out on one of Sydney’s busiest highways on Wednesday morning, with two men throwing brutal punches and kicks as they dodged traffic.

A lorry driver filmed the bare-knuckle brawl on the Hume Highway in Bass Hill and sent it to 2GB’s Ray Hadley, who was unimpressed with the men’s disturbing behaviour, calling it “crazy”.

Hadley described the road rage incident as “two guys fighting each other in traffic.”

‘The two idiots jump out of their respective vehicles and crash across six lanes of the highway, three lanes on one side, three lanes on the other.

“And there are cars turning right and stopping because (the men) are throwing punches between the vehicles.”

As cars screamed about the dangerous and highly volatile situation, people tried to stop the fight.

“One guy in particular intervenes, a brave guy, in high visibility, obviously a trader,” Hadley said.

“He comes out from wherever he is and comes and tries to separate them.”

Hadley, like many viewers of the clip, initially thought one of the men fighting was a woman because of her long ponytail.

The fight unfolded in the median and across opposing traffic lanes, with one of the fighters’ pants falling down at one point, exposing their bare rear ends.

But between blows, he took the opportunity to pull up his sweatpants and continue fighting, while blocking and disrupting traffic.

After the peacekeeper had some success in stopping the fight and getting the ponytailed man back into his truck, it all started again.

He returned to the truck twice and twice went back out for more, before the fight finally broke up and the men went their separate ways.
