Things aren’t looking so good for humanity in the first preview of kingdom of the planet of the apes. The fourth film in the modern version of the franchise, Kingdom takes place several generations after the last film: 2017 War for the Planet of the Apes – when a new leader has taken over the apes as they assert themselves as the dominant force on the planet. That leaves little room for the humans, of course, who spend most of the trailer curled up or running around.
Here is the official description:
As a tyrannical new ape leader builds his empire, a young ape embarks on a harrowing journey that will make him question everything he knew about the past and make decisions that will define the future for both apes and humans.
The new film is directed by Wes Ball and the cast includes Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon and William H. Macy. Previously, everything we had seen of Kingdom It was some concept art, but now we also know when it will be released: the film will hit theaters on May 24, 2024.
