The outage is believed to have been caused by a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
It involves flooding a server with Internet traffic to prevent users from accessing online services.
The attacker attempts to extract money from the organization in exchange for stopping the attack.
Hulu has more than 50 million paid subscribers, while 4.5 million users are subscribed to the streamer’s Hulu Live TV package.
Their subscription service starts at $7.99 per month with ads.
