A caravan with a young family of five inside was stolen from a holiday park, along with the car that was towing it.
A man and woman, along with their three children aged between six and 12, were inside their caravan in Hughenden, central Queensland, at about 9pm on Monday night when they heard the car start.
When the caravan began to move, the family managed to get out before the attacker chased them away.
The family was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The car keys were apparently stolen from the caravan that same day.
Police have since found the car and caravan and investigations are continuing.
