He is known as one of the most sensible stars in Hollywood.
And Sydney-born legend Hugh Jackman, 55, has shared a throwback video that will no doubt warm the hearts of millions of his fans.
In a post on social media on Wednesday, Hugh paid tribute to the film crews he has worked with, calling them the “unsung heroes” of filmmaking.
Hugh celebrated his achievement by revealing a quirky on-set tradition that the Wolverine star said he started a long time ago.
Hugh said that when he was making a movie he would hand out lottery cards “without a draw.”
Known as “scratchies,” each crew member would receive a card every Friday. To play, users must scratch the plastic of the card to reveal winning symbols.
Scratchy tickets in Australia can cost as little as $1 and can offer prizes of up to $10,000 for one lucky winner.
Hugh included a video of himself playing scratch card on the set of his latest film, the blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine.

Wearing a heavy bathrobe covering his familiar Wolverine costume, Hugh can be seen “earning” five dollars from his card.
“Fifteen pounds! I’ll take it,” he said in the video.
Hugh also used the post to thank all the members of the film crew he has worked with over the years.
‘I don’t remember the exact reason why I started giving away Scratchy’s on Fridays.’
‘Maybe it was because I wanted the popular kids to like me… or maybe it was because I wanted to make sure I gave a shout out to each and every person who works tirelessly to make the movies.’

Another impressed fan said: “A lot of actors, singers, athletes… are called ‘stars’. Often they aren’t, because they treat us ‘normal’ people like shit. But YOU, YOU ARE a real star and you show (that) anytime, anywhere how to be a real star.”

This comes after Hugh recently broke down in tears while celebrating his latest box office success.
The stage and screen star cried in his car when he learned that his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine, has become the number one movie in the world.
Reading the news on his phone in a video posted to Twitter on Monday, Hugh first laughed to himself before exclaiming: “Oh my God.”
Tears of happiness began to flow as the revelation became clear, as he wiped away the droplets before heaving a deep sigh.
Hugh also shared the news on his Instagram, writing: “Wolverine and Deadpool is the number one movie in the world. Thank you ALL!”
He posted the caption alongside a graphic of his character, Wolverine, lying on a couch looking at a framed picture that read: “The number one movie in the world.”
Deadpool & Wolverine grossed A$10 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film (US) in a single weekend of all time, while grossing A$668.45 million globally, far beyond industry expectations.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the third film in the action-comedy series starring Ryan Reynolds and will mark Hugh Jackman’s tenth time portraying Wolverine.
He first portrayed Wolverine in the 2000 film X-Men and has since appeared in several sequels and spin-offs.
In May, it was reported that Hugh was finding comfort in his adult children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, following his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness last year.
