Hugh Jackman broke down in tears as he celebrated his latest blockbuster.
The 55-year-old Sydney-born star cried in his car when he learned his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine, has become the number one movie in the world.
Reading the news on his phone in a video posted to Twitter on Monday, Hugh first laughed to himself before exclaiming: “Oh my God.”
Tears of happiness began to flow as the revelation became clear, as he wiped away the droplets before heaving a deep sigh.
Hugh also shared the news on his Instagram, writing: “Wolverine and Deadpool is the number one movie in the world. Thank you ALL!”
He posted the caption alongside a graphic of his character, Wolverine, lying on a couch looking at a framed picture that read: “The number one movie in the world.”
Deadpool & Wolverine grossed A$10 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, while grossing A$668.45 million globally, far beyond industry expectations.
The star recently revealed how his children Oscar and Ava inspired him to reprise his iconic Marvel superhero role in Deadpool and Wolverine.

Hugh, who last played the foul-mouthed X-Men hero Wolverine in the 2017 film Logan, said a conversation with his children convinced him to take on the role again.
“I’d been talking to my kids about, ‘What do you want to do with your life? What would you want to do if you could do anything?'” she said. The Daily Telegraph.
‘And I thought I should ask myself this: if I could do anything (and I’m very lucky to be able to ask myself that question in many ways), what would it be?’
He added that one of the things he wanted most in life was to play Wolverine again, despite having previously insisted that he no longer wanted to play the character.

Hugh said he then contacted Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, 47, and told him he would accept his offer to appear alongside him in a film, despite having previously turned it down.
“Ryan and I are good friends, so I knew he was getting ready to film, but I wasn’t sure where he was. I thought if he was filming now, this would be years from now.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is the third film in the action-comedy series starring Reynolds and will mark Jackman’s tenth time portraying Wolverine.
He first portrayed Wolverine in the 2000 film X-Men and has since appeared in several sequels and spin-offs.
In May, it was reported that Jackman was finding comfort in his adult children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, following his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness last year.

The 55-year-old actor has reportedly been “sad” amid the high-profile divorce, according to Women’s Day.
However, it seems his greatest comfort comes from his children, who have stepped up to support their father during this difficult time.
“They know him better than he knows himself and they surprise him constantly,” a close friend told the publication.
“They have become closer than he could have imagined and he can now rely on them, whereas before he would turn to Deb,” the friend added.
Friends of the actor are hopeful that the deep bond he has with his children will help him overcome his current emotional crisis.
