Kade Maloney, son of former NRL star James Maloney, has been found, according to family members.

On Sunday, his mother Jess asked the public to help them find the 14-year-old boy after he went missing on Sunday.

He posted a message on Instagram stating they were “desperately searching for Kade” and that he was heading towards the Penrith area.

But later that night, he returned to the social media platform to announce the news that the teen had been found and thanked those who had offered support to the family.

‘Update: Kade has been found!!!’ She wrote, before adding: ‘He is now safe with our friends.

‘Thank you to everyone who helped find it, offered support and shared this publication to make it reach so many people.

‘Thank you also to the NSW Police, particularly Brisbane Water and Penrith. We are very grateful.’

That same day, his mother had issued a statement urging the public to come forward if they had any information.

“We’re desperate to know he’s okay and if he doesn’t want us to know exactly where he is, that’s fine, we just desperately want to know he’s safe,” Jess had written on Instagram.

‘Please, if you have seen him or heard from him, please contact us. He has James’ phone number, so James cannot be contacted.

“We’re desperate to know he’s okay and if he doesn’t want us to know exactly where he is, that’s fine, we just desperately want to know he’s safe.”

‘The police are also helping us, so please inform them too if you know anything. Please share too. Thank you.’

New South Wales Police had also asked the public for help in finding the teenager. Police posted photographs of the boy online after he was seen leaving a train station wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of North Queensland Cowboys shorts.

‘When they were unable to locate or contact him, officers attached to the Brisbane Water Police District were notified and began investigating his whereabouts.
