- NRL Broncos player cleared after police investigation
- He was questioned after his response to an alleged domestic disturbance
- The player was not identified, police confirmed that “investigations are ongoing.”
An NRL Broncos star who was under investigation for an alleged domestic violence incident has reportedly been cleared by Queensland Police.
This follows a report that one of the club’s players had been questioned after police responded to an alleged domestic disturbance on Brisbane’s southside on July 28.
The player, whose name has not been released, was not arrested or charged.
Police said investigations were ongoing at the time and it is understood they have since informed the player they will not pursue the alleged matter further, according to News Corporation.
The Broncos notified the NRL of the allegation in late July, but no players were sidelined under the code’s no-fault suspension policy as they were not charged.
At the time, the Broncos said they were “cooperating with police and the NRL”.
“We have been made aware of a matter involving one of our players, and the club has referred it to the NRL Integrity Unit,” the club said in a statement.
‘The health and wellbeing of all parties is paramount to our club and support has been offered to those involved.

“At this time, the club is not in a position to make any further comment.”
The Broncos are unlikely to finish in the NRL’s top eight after reaching the grand final last season.
Kevin Walters’ side sit in 10th place, with games remaining against Parramatta, Dolphins and Melbourne.
Mathematically they can still play football finals, but they need a series of results to go their way.
