Huawei CEO, Richard Yu checked the name on the Huawei P30 during an interview at IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany.
When he was questioned in a group interview about the recent impressive sales performance of Huawei, Yu gave a lengthy reply in which he said: "Mate 20 will be even better [than the P20 Pro]… and next year the P30 will be even better. "
The next big launch of Huawei is the Mate 20 in the coming months, with the Huawei P30 not arriving at the earliest in February 2019 – and thanks to the comment from Yu we now have confirmation of this.
In addition to dropping the P30 name, Yu also revealed that the new Mate 20 will offer real-time object recognition, made possible by the newly announced Kirin 980 chipset from the company.
If it proves successful, it could also appear in the P30 from 2019.
