The UEFA Champions League returns this week with several changes to its schedule, including the addition of 36 teams (instead of the 32 in the past) and the elimination of the group stage in favor of the new league system. In the league system, sometimes called the Swiss system, the 36 participating teams will be divided into four groups of nine and play two teams from each group. At the end of the eight matches, the top eight teams will advance to the round of 16, while the ninth- to 24th-placed teams will advance to a playoff round. Reigning champions Real Madrid will play their first game of the season on Tuesday against Stuttgart, just one of many matches that will kick off the new UEFA Champions League season.

The UEFA Champions League season kicks off on September 17 and runs through May 2025. This season, Paramount+ and CBS Sports Networks will have exclusive streaming rights and you’ll be able to watch all of this week’s matches on Paramount+. Here’s the full schedule for all of this week’s UEFA Champions League matches and how to watch them.
