How to respec and change your appearance in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

A long way in Wo Long: fallen dynasty, you finally get the chance to both respect your character and change your appearance. They are unlocked at the same time and involve a visit to the same NPC. You will have to defeat the (arguably) strongest boss first.

Defeat Wo Long’s Aoye boss in Part 3

The first Main Battlefield in part 3 is In search of the immortal wizard. At the end of that quest, you’ll need to face the Aoye boss fight, and it’s a cruel An.

But once you’ve won, you’ll meet the titular immortal wizard, Zuo Ci. He unlocks a new Divine Beast for you, and then he goes to the Hidden village.

Once you arrive at the Hidden Village, face the Battle Flag. Zuo Ci is in the building directly behind you. (We spent way too long searching the village before even thinking about looking in there.)

When speaking to Zuo Ci, you have several options:

• Reset parameters – here you redistribute your virtue points.
• Accolade reward — redeem braces (which you get by avenging other players’ deaths) for items
• Character Creation – change your appearance
• Interaction — Talk to Zuo Ci.

When you select Reset parameters from Zuo Ci’s menu you will see a screen similar to the menu to level up at a Battle Flag. This is what allows you to respect your character.

As you scroll through the five stages of virtues, you can press the button to remove virtue points from each stage and then add those points elsewhere. You can even reset each stage to rank one and start all over again.

To record your decisions, press A/cross – there’s actually no on-screen prompt to do this.

And it costs nothing, no matter how many times you do it.

Changing your appearance

Pick Character Creation from Zuo Ci’s menu takes you back to the character creation screen from the very beginning of the game. You adjust physical details, change your pronouns or start from scratch.

Similar to redistributing your virtue points, you can change all of your aesthetics for free as many times as you like.
