How to quickly free up storage space on your iPhone ahead of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts

iPhone users have discovered a simple way to free up storage space on their phones, and the trick comes just days before Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour concerts.

Music lovers have always had a hard time recording their favorite concert moments on their phones, mainly due to lack of storage space.

Hannah Koumakis from New Zealand recently shared a trick that can jailbreak your phone in minutes, and all you need is an external hard drive.

Instead of purchasing iCloud or Google Drive storage every month, you can simply purchase a hard drive that plugs into your phone for seamless transfer.

Once you do that, you’ll be able to delete photos from your phone knowing they’re safe on your storage device.

“Oh my god, I just discovered this,” Hannah said in a video.

‘I was years old today when I discovered that you can connect your hard drive directly to your phone and save photos directly to a hard drive. This is crazy.’

She shared a step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve it.

First, you will need to purchase a hard drive and an adapter that connects it to your iPhone.

You can find the technology at JB-Hifi, Amazon, Officeworks or other online and in-person retailers.

After connecting both devices securely, you can start sharing files between them.

Hannah first selected 35 photos, clicked the “share” icon in the bottom left corner, and scrolled until she found the “Save to Files” option.

The hard drive will appear as one of the files and you can choose to save all the photos together or create separate folders.

It’s important to remember that if you use a hard drive on an iPhone, you can only use it on other Apple devices.

If you try to connect it to an Android device, it may be reformatted and corrupted when trying to read a new file format.

Many were amazed by Hannah’s simple trick and couldn’t believe they hadn’t thought of it first.

“I’ve been paying Apple for storage when I could do this,” said one.

“My cloud is full and I always get annoying notifications telling me to update so this is great,” another shared.

Some shared some advice.

“Make a backup: I lost priceless baby photos in a flood,” one man warned.

“You can also do this with a Canon camera and your phone,” another revealed.
