Melbourne foodie Mel used a few basic ingredients to make air fried cinnamon ‘donuts’. You will need White Wings Original Pancake Mix, Nutella, cinnamon, caster sugar, and fresh strawberries.
To make the mini donuts, Mel prepared premade pancake mix and greased a small silicone cupcake pan set in the deep fryer.
Carefully, she poured the pancake mix halfway into each pan to allow the donuts enough room to expand and allowed them to cook for eight minutes at 350°F.
During this time, Mel combined two tablespoons of sugar with one and a half teaspoons of cinnamon in a bowl.
“Once they’re cooked, take them out and coat them with the cinnamon sugar,” Mel said.
‘I serve with fresh strawberries and Nutella.’
Since then, the short video has been viewed a staggering 800,000 times, as foodies around the world loved the simple idea.
‘This looks so good! Definitely try this! one wrote, another said: ‘I want to do this on the weekend’
Another offered an alternate suggestion, saying, “Put a layer of Nutella in the middle, then when you bite into it, a gooey Nutella comes out.”
“Yummmo, I wonder if a banana slice in the middle would be nice,” added another.
Of course, alternative toppings can be used based on personal taste, such as maple syrup and banana, chocolate chips or mixed berries, and ice cream.
