The recommendation caught the attention of more than 400 people who liked the post on social media.

”I’ll have to try it with your magic potion. Tried the traps with the supplied potion but couldn’t stand the smell even far from the house,” one person wrote.

Another added: “I will definitely try this, flies have taken over my house this year and nothing is working to get rid of them.”

‘Yes, we just bought one this week, but we used the solution it came with, it works amazing!’ said a third.

But some seem concerned about the strong odor of the liquid inside the bottle.

One woman suggested lining the inside with a small freezer bag before adding anything else.

‘Mix the “chemical/attractant” inside the bag, screw on the cap and walk away!’ she wrote.

‘When you need to replace it, undo the lid, tie a knot in the bag and put the bag in the container! Quick and easy!!

Reline the bottle with a fresh bag and start over.
