If you want to dramatically improve your competitive gaming experience, investing in a dedicated gaming keyboard is one of the easiest and best ways to get ahead.
Over the years, the best gaming keyboards have become more popular on Black Friday, when many value games more than what a good supply of them can be quite expensive – especially since high-end gaming keyboards tend to include customizable keyboards. macros, mechanical keys, RGB lighting, faster response times, higher build quality, and more premium features. But with the right Black Friday deal, you can easily get one of the more expensive models for less than $100 or even less than $50.
And if you happen to be looking at a low or low category, those sales will make the prices even sweeter. Most importantly, there are now many options that provide almost the same experience as a high-end model at a lower price.
However, there are some things you don’t want to touch with a ten-foot pole, and it’s not just for low-range models either. Sometimes you might get what seems like the best deal on a high-end gaming keyboard, but it doesn’t offer the features or build quality that should come with it.
But that’s where we come from. We tried many of the best keyboards around and we know what it takes to make or break your gaming experience, so we’re here to guide you through the process to get the best possible holiday experience.
What to expect on Black Friday game developers deal?
So what will you be looking for when you go shopping at the Black Market? There are some key points to remember when it comes to buying a developer game and ensuring that it has the smoothest experience possible.
The gaming keyboards have a wide range of features and builds to suit the various needs of customers. However, depending on which end of the price spectrum you want to buy, there are tips and tricks that can help your experience.
The number one feature to look for when shopping for a high-end gaming keyboard is quality construction. Most of the other features are important but if the gaming keyboard is made of cheap plastic then it will break quickly. For expensive keyboards, it must be made of aluminum alloy and mechanical keys.
This means that the body of the keyboard is stainless because of the punishment they take and the top of the keyboard must be made of aluminum. The latter means that keyboards use either membrane or mechanical keys. Mechanical keys have a switch underneath the keys and membrane keys send an electric current between two plastic membranes. The mechanism reacts much faster to clicks and lasts much longer than cheap films.
Cheap keyboards tend to use membrane keys and have plastic bodies, which can be compromised during gaming sessions, but are perfectly fine for casual gaming and productivity. However, some heavy and medium keyboards can also imitate the mechanical feel of more expensive ones even with membrane keys. But keyboards in this category should never cost more than $50, nothing more than the price tag to at least have mechanical keys.
One special consideration for Black Friday is that it’s worth mentioning, namely that you’re going to see a fair amount of high-end keyboard deals this time of year. Here is an example from last year:
Features that a gaming keyboard should have are some customizable key levels and/or macros (although the amount and levels will vary depending on the price point) and a fast response time with 1ms or less being ideal.
Another thing you want to look for is size, which depends on how much desk space you have. If that’s enough for you, then a normal keyboard with a tenkey pad is perfectly fine. However, tenkeyless keyboards can require less space and are much smaller and portable. You can find the best mini keyboards across all price ranges, and many will be on sale on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
All types of gaming keyboards will see their prices drop
We have years of experience in finding the best art deals during the holidays, so we know how Black Friday events and Cyber Monday sales tend to run. In the past two years, the rules have shifted around quite a bit, due to the pandemic chain issues and the resulting supply, which has made things even more chaotic.
Even with that, however, many models of constant work are needed. The tech industry in general has many practices that have survived the past couple of years, such as a tendency to drop prices on older products in order to provide newer models.
These are less likely to receive price cuts, although you may see the occasional sale on such products, which can still make it worthwhile to keep track of the latest gaming keyboards. Older keyboards aren’t the only ones that go on sale during the holidays.
In addition, when new technologies tend to come out either during the holidays or at the beginning of next year, demand for today’s gaming keyboards will fall and retailers will be forced to lower prices as a result.
The best way to see what kind of gaming keyboards to expect this year is to look at what we saw last year. And, to help you compare to last year, we were able to show you some highlights from our 2021 Black Friday coverage.
There are a lot of things to avoid on Black Friday game developers
Unfortunately, the holiday season means more opportunities to sell keyboards at mid-range prices, which are often inflated and disguised in many ways. And while it’s hard to cut out every single keyboard offering, there are ways to pick out the best examples.
These tips apply more to high-end gaming keyboards, since there are usually more sellers who try to push less-than-stellar models to buyers, pretending they are premium.
The finish of any keyboard should be made of aluminum or tinned steel, period. If you are going to spend premium prices then it should be premium material. This goes double for the keys, which should always be the industry-standard mechanical wax MX keys.
In terms of specs, the response time should be 1ms or less and have customizable keys and some features. Of course, the type and quantity of it depends on the price and the type of gaming bike, since the MMO game requires more of each, but the feature that the hardcore and the author needs should be the gaming itself.
Features like RGB lighting are usually included, but they’re just window dressing – very expensive windows that can easily raise the price of a gaming keyboard ten dollars. If you happen to see a keyboard with it, but the appearance is a little lower than normal, that’s a lot of trouble.
Finally, wireless keyboards are the subject of the eternal wireless debate, and we’re here to say that it’s mostly down to personal preference. There isn’t enough of a difference between the response time to justify one or the other, so do what works best for you and don’t fall for the extra charge for wireless that’s guaranteed not to be worth the extra effort.
If you are allowed to go wireless and you are thinking about competitive gaming devices, make sure the developers support 2.4Ghz wireless and not just Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth has a higher input latency than 2.4GHz wireless, so it’s not as suitable for competitive gaming.
