Sydneysiders stunned after discovering a secret hidden inside what they thought was a ‘normal’ flower shop

Behind the doors of an impressive flower shop hides an amazing flora-filled ‘speakeasy’ bar serving unique cocktails and delicious tapas.
The Flower Shop is located on a busy street in Penrith, in Sydney’s great west, and looks like a normal flower shop from the outside.
However, when patrons pass through a hidden door and down a dimly lit hallway, they find a charming Prohibition-inspired restaurant festooned with flowers and cherry blossoms.
The Flower Shop was designed as an homage to the speakeasies that sprung up during the Prohibition era, or, as the website puts it, “the smoky-filled underground luxury of over a century ago.”
Foodies flock to the magical bar not only for its dreamy decor, but also for its selection of gourmet bites and dishes that can be paired with specialty cocktails.

Behind the doors of a flower-covered flower shop in Penrith, Sydney is a stunning speakeasy-style bar called The Flower Shop with delicious food and cocktails.

As patrons pass through a hidden door and down a dimly lit hallway, they find a charming Prohibition-themed restaurant festooned with flowers and cherry blossoms.

It was designed as an homage to the speakeasies that sprung up during the Prohibition era, or, as the website puts it, “the luxurious, smoke-filled underground of over a century ago.”
As guests reach the end of the arched hallway, they are greeted with a fantastical space decorated with a kaleidoscope of blossoms and pink cherry blossoms rising up to cover the ceiling.
Visitors can sit under the flowers while enjoying a menu of tasty tapas, including truffle toast, oysters, arancini balls, and meat pies.
A selection of cocktails has been prepared to pair perfectly with some of the bar snacks.
The buttery lobster roll is complemented by the gin and passion fruit bubble sorbet cocktail, while the Raspberry Garden dessert with chocolate mousse, hazelnut ground and freeze-dried raspberries is paired with the Smoked Rye Old Fashioned.
There’s also live music entertainment, as well as a bottomless lunch with margaritas, Aperol spritzes, and espresso martinis.

Those who have visited the spectacular Flower Shop have been raving about their experience since it opened late last year.
Food blogger Natasha Nahme, what’s up yehthetasha online, she shared a TikTok video of her visit that she said “did not disappoint her.”
‘This is a great find!!’ one onlooker said, while another commented: ‘Is this on the main street? I’ve been through plenty of times! My God!’
‘How have I lived in Penrith and never seen this?’ asked a third.
‘From the florist in front of the shop filled with beautiful flowers to the intriguing tunnel that opens into a spectacular flower-filled bar. Great atmosphere, drinks, food, great service and music,” another woman wrote online.
