A cleaning expert has listed the three most important areas of your car that you should clean more often, as they are often full of dirt and nasty bacteria.

Anita Birges of Sydney cleaned key areas of her car’s interior – including the steering wheel, gear lever and door handles – with antibacterial wipes.

While the areas didn’t look dirty, the three wipes all had brown marks on them and the steering wheel was the dirtiest.

“I’m always shocked at the amount of dirt and grime that comes off. It’s pretty gross,” she said.

Anita said the quick job only took five minutes to complete all three areas. The task must be completed at least once a week.

In the clip, the cloth used to clean the gear lever looked just as dirty, while the door handles and window handles were less dirty.

The short video has since been viewed more than 24,000 times, but some disagreed with the method for one reason.

“I wouldn’t use interior antibacterial wipes,” one wrote.

A second claimed, “The antibacterial wipes aren’t good for cars because the surface eventually comes off so I’d choose a different product but nothing alcohol based because that’s the problem with making the interior plastic that all seals. great.’

But according to Tempe Honda’s auto detailers, disinfectant wipes are safe to use and won’t cause any damage.

When considering how to sanitize your car, one of the most effective methods is to use household disinfectant wipes that both kill germs and clean your surfaces. You can use them on most hard surfaces, but focus on the areas you touch most often,” the company wrote on its website website.

Others are disgusted and thanked Anita for sharing the cleaning “hack.”

‘OMG!!! Ugh, gotta go clean mine now,” one wrote.

“I clean like this and I wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and then a dry one to remove all the product,” wrote another.

“I used to have a van. When I had a car full of kids. I gave each of them a wipe or two and told them to clean their area. It wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t bad. And it made my car smell really nice,” a third added.
