Michael Calore: I’m going to watch a few short films and see what I get, and I’ll report back.
Lauren Goode: His and hers?
Michael Calore: Yes, his and hers.
Lauren Goode: Okay, let’s take another quick break and then we’ll be back with our recommendations.
(Pause)
Lauren Goode: Amanda, what’s your review?
Amanda Hoover: So another product I first saw on TikTok Shop while we were talking about themes got me all thinking. It’s like this cap that you pull over your face. You keep it in the freezer. So it is advertised that it works against hangovers. It’s also great for headaches, and it cools your head immediately, helping with any pressure, tension, whatever. And it’s called: HungovrAF is one of the main brands of it, but I think there are a few others, but that was the one I first saw.
Lauren Goode: What a great brand name.
Michael Calore: Do you keep it in the freezer?
Amanda Hoover: Yes. You should keep it in the freezer. If you wake up with a hangover, it won’t be ready in time. You need to make some preparations.
Lauren Goode: Does it actually cover your face?
Amanda Hoover: Yes. Covers your eyes. It’s like a soft cap.
Lauren Goode: Wow. I could imagine that would be great for migraines.
Michael Calore: Amanda, have you considered not drinking?
Amanda Hoover: I actually had a friend who loved this too. I was always talking about a headache, and I had like a cold roller, like a skin roller, and I let her borrow it one time and she had a really bad hangover. And then I saw this and I thought, “This is going to totally change the game.”
Lauren Goode: Don’t be a swear word, Michael. She is 30 years old and lives in New York City. I mean come on.
Amanda Hoover: At age 30, you’ll start to get hungover sooner than you expected.
Michael Calore: Just wait, just wait. A bottle opens across the room and I immediately start to feel terrible.
Lauren Goode: Every time Mike goes to CES it’s like, “Oh, good luck.” You go five days, six days, and he says the first five: bitters and soda.
Michael Calore: That’s right. I don’t drink at CES until the last night. That’s my move.
Lauren Goode: That’s a good method.
Michael Calore: People ask me for recommendations for Las Vegas. I said, “Don’t drink until you go home.”
Lauren Goode: Right. You could sleep on the plane home. Thanks for that, Amanda. I’m looking forward to linking to that in the show notes as we become our own little shopping platform. Did you also know that you can buy WIRED merchandise?
Michael Calore: We’re going to recommend this thing.
Lauren Goode: We have to hype the merchandise.
