Kirstie Allsopp has revealed that her next-door neighbor Richard Curtis previously inspired her happily single status, before the Love director ended up influencing her wedding.
It was revealed on Saturday that the location location location Star, 53, had married property tycoon Beau Ben Andersen after long insisting a wedding was not for her.
And it was held at the Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair, which was where Love’s wedding scene between Keira Knightley and Chiwetel Ejiofor was shot.
The joyous 40-minute ceremony included the Beatles hit All You Need Is Love, which also appeared on Curtis’ Love Actually, and the anthem I Promise You, My Country.
And in 2020, Kirstie spoke to the Daily Mail about not being married and how Richard and his partner Emma Freud were her inspiration for not getting married.
Richard and Emma were together for 33 years and survived two failed engagements before secretly marrying in 2023.

She said: ‘Each to their own is my feeling. I have been with my partner for 16 years and have two children and two stepchildren and, like many of my friends, we are very happy.
‘I have no problem being a middle-aged girlfriend with an even older middle-aged boyfriend. And I have learned the best, since we live next door to the most famous and happiest single couple: Richard Curtis and Emma Freud.
“Richard even jokes that he had to make four weddings and a funeral into the film to explain to his mother why he’s never married.”
The star beamed with happiness as she finally married Ben in a ceremony she had kept secret until the last minute, even from most of her guests, in a bid to keep it private.
The chapel had deep connections with Kirstie’s family and was where a memorial service was held for her beloved father, former Christie chairman Charles Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip, last June.
The couple returned to the 18th-century building to say their vows surrounded by around 70 close friends and family, most of whom had just discovered they were attending a wedding.
Kirstie and Ben, who have been together for 21 years and have two children, Bay, 18, and Oscar, 16, said they were celebrating Ben’s 64th birthday before dropping the surprise.
Kirstie arrived for the service in a stunning custom Oscar de la Renta and tulle dress that she had purchased two weeks earlier.

And it was held at the Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair, which was where Love’s wedding scene between Keira Knightley and Chiwetel Ejiofor took place.
Kirstie told The Mail on Sunday that the arrangements were so last-minute and secret that many high-profile guests, including Phil Spencer, her Channel 4 co-host for more than two decades, couldn’t make it.
“On Thursday, Ben and I got married at Grosvenor Chapel, where my parents and grandparents were married, and where we celebrated my father’s life in June,” she said.
‘We had a small group of close friends and family with us who only found out about the wedding on Monday.
‘We already had a big party planned to mark Ben’s birthday, so most of our guests thought that was what they were going to celebrate, and we did exactly that, with lots of food, drink and dancing and all my nieces and nephews running, having a ball.
‘We sing all you need is love. That was Ben’s idea; I’m a huge Richard Curtis fan and have an original script for the film. I bought my sparkly dress two weeks earlier in the sales, and the lovely ladies at Oscar de la Renta added sleeves, thinking it was for an awards ceremony.
‘The flowers, catering, order of service and lighting were all done by people I have worked with over the years who kept it all a secret and put together an amazing event on short notice, although due to that short notice , kinda loved Friends and family couldn’t be there, including Phil.
The couple’s children, along with Ben’s older sons Hal and Orion from a previous relationship, were ushers. The four were spotted at a local wine bar before the wedding, with Bay seen practicing a speech outside.
Those who attended the ceremony included Kirstie’s sisters Sofie Fletcher and Natasha Morley, designer India Hicks and Kirstie’s cousin, former hedge fund boss Jamie Allsopp.
Kirstie decided to release official photos, taken by famous photographer Catherine Bradley, to this newspaper after realizing that a paparazzi photographer had been waiting outside the chapel.
“I was hoping we had pulled off a real coup, a genuinely private wedding in the city we love, in a church connected to my family, which is also the church of love,” he said.
‘Unfortunately, despite my cunning plan, there was a paparazzi photographer outside.
‘So, with the help of Sunday’s mail, I’m releasing some photos of my own, and if anyone else wants to use them, please make a donation to Grosvenor Chapel, which will soon celebrate 300 years of being in the center of Mayfair. Which can be done through GrosvenorChapel.org.uk

Kirstie was introduced to Ben, a self-made billionaire, by his ex-wife Theresa, who had attended private school classes at the same time as Kirstie.
Until last week, Ben always said he didn’t want to get married again after his divorce.
Kirstie once said: ‘Ben will never marry me. He sat me down ten days after we met and said, “I never want to get married again, but I would like to have children with you and live with you for the rest of my life.”
‘It was almost like a proposal. I felt like I had to say okay. Ben is an amazing person who I love very much.
