Pink seems to have been trendy forever – from the Millennium Pink fad of 2016 to last year’s Barbie-inspired overload.

And the color shows no sign of abating according to the catwalk, but now there’s a ‘grown-up’ way to wear it, according to The telegraph.

According to the outlet: ‘Modern pink, 2024 pink, looks less like you’ve had a run-in with the Barbie Dreamhouse. It’s more subtle – like a hint of pink – than overwhelming, saturated colour.’

Given the generally short life of trends, it’s remarkable that pink – regardless of shade – is still so popular.

Speaking to FEMAIL earlier about the shade’s enduring popularity, Stephen Sheldon, a stylist at society in the 21st century. .’

Pink’s role was now to ‘enhance other shades’.

As Morgane Sézalory, founder of Sézane told the Telegraph: ‘Powder pink is for me the best option because it’s easy to pair with neutral colors such as beige, gray or white, or even with denim. It’s ideal for a daytime look, and you can never go wrong with a touch of powder pink either in spring or winter.’

The paper advises that another new ‘grown-up way’ to wear pink day-to-day is to ‘enhance other shades’ rather than as a main colour.

This is because it matches a number of other colors, for example red, burgundy and brown.

Discussing 2023’s love of hot pink, Sibel Sevcan, told FEMAIL: ‘The recent explosion of hot pink as a popular outfit and accessory color of choice is certainly being fueled by the frenzy building around the upcoming Barbie movie release (which came out in July).

‘It was also a central theme at fashion week with Valentino’s Pink PP A/W23 collection having a significant influence on this season’s looks.’

She also added that “for Gen Z, pink now symbolizes a new desire to express femininity boldly and without limitations or stereotypes”.

So while hot pink may have had its moment, the color is still generally seen on red carpets and catwalks.

This may be because the pale shade is easier to wear.
