Following my dad’s advice, I applied for Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) loans three times to buy a new car without going broke.
Then the scandal broke and I realized that maybe I had been caught.
I have received unsolicited offers from claims management companies but they seem greedy and aggressive so I went it alone and used the Money Saving Expert website.
I filled out the details of my car and my financing provider, Stellantis. Within a week, I discovered that one of my loans involved a discretionary fee. Stellantis promised to get back in touch, but I heard nothing.
Recommendation: Following my father’s advice, Joanne took out personal contract purchase loans three times to buy a new car without breaking the bank.
When prompted, he responded by email to say the case was closed, without explanation. After trying other avenues with the company, I received a confusing follow-up email, which seemed to suggest I might receive an update this week, but also said that some complaints wouldn’t be addressed until at least May of next year.
It also said: “As this is an evolving situation, we are directing customers to the Financial Conduct Authority website.”
It’s not great, but I still won’t go to a claims specialist, most of whom receive large amounts of compensation.
