
After Balenciaga apologized for its bondage campaign with teddy bears and blamed another scandal involving child porn on an engineer. But the embattled Balenciaga still has to answer for a 3rd concern about its recently cancelled ad campaigns. This concerns a prominently placed book that honors Michael Borremans.
Borremans’ dark work borders on the occult and is consistent. In some of his paintings, he shows castrated children and headless models.
Balenciaga still has not explained how one of his books got in the background of its Spring’23 campaign. However, it blamed other props on Nicholas Des Jardins (and North Six) – namely, a printout Supreme Court ruling on child poi – and set designer Nicholas Des Jardins.
