The alleged murder of a married mother on a rural estate by her husband has shocked the local community where the couple kept a low profile.
Yadwinder Singh, 44, allegedly killed his wife Amarjit Kaur Sardar, 41, on their 55.5 hectare sugar cane farm in Woodhill, south central Queenslandat 9 a.m. Thursday.
First responders were called to the scene where they found Ms Sardar, who had allegedly been run over by a tractor. She died at the scene.

Residents of the quiet area are still reeling from the horrific accusations, with some claiming the town will never be the same again.
Yadwinder Singh (pictured), 44, allegedly killed his wife Amarjit Kaur Sardar, 41, at their 55.5 hectare property in Woodhill, south of Brisbane, at 9am on Thursday.
Rescuers were called to the scene where they found Ms Sardar mutilated after allegedly being run over by a sugarcane cutter (pictured).
The couple bought the property in 2017 for $750,000 after moving from Brisbane and their two children were attending school in nearby Beaudesert.
“The family didn’t mix with the local community, but the woman seemed like a nice person, quiet and devoted to her family,” said a local who has lived in Woodhill for almost 50 years. The Cairns Post.
Veresdale Hotel owner Leon Mills said he did not know the couple but it was more than likely they had visited his place.
“The property is very close and was probably used to grow organic vegetables to take to markets,” he said.
“I would never have expected this to happen in Woodhill, it is so calm and peaceful.”
Local Matt Dunn said everyone in the community was aware of how dangerous a cutter tractor could be.
Logan’s Center For Women & Co issued a statement saying the death was close for many.
‘We are incredibly saddened and sickened to learn of Amarjit’s alleged murder and can barely bear to imagine his final moments.
“Our thoughts are with his two children, his family, his friends and his loved ones.”
On Saturday, Detective Inspector Chris Knight told the media: “He [Singh] reported that his wife had died and there were some limited follow-up questions asked by the [ambulance] operators.”
The couple has two teenage children and lived on a 55-hectare property.
Police will allege that Singh had murdered his wife before interfering with her body to make the death look like an accident.
Inspector Knight added that detectives had confiscated Singh and Sardar’s phones and that Singh’s triple 0 call was ‘part of our investigations’.
Detectives are also analyzing videos found on the phones.
Police have seized a lawn tractor and a sedan from the rural property.
The children were not at home at the time of their mother’s death and relatives traveled interstate to Queensland to care for them.
Court documents say Singh is a truck driver who was born in India.
He appeared before Beenleigh Magistrates Court and was charged with murder and ‘misconduct with the corpse by interfering’ on Friday.
The matter is adjourned until June 5.
