A furious grandmother has yet to meet her two-year-old granddaughter after an Australian family was split up over a botched wedding ring.

A caller called into the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday morning during their Snap Predictions segment to seek advice about her feud with her own mother-in-law.

Alecia said she used her mother-in-law’s jeweler to create her wedding ring for her nuptials, but the craftsman ‘ruined’ the ring so badly it caused a rift between the couple.

“It basically ruined my entire ring, aAnd then, yeah, we had a big fight about it,” the caller said.

He added that his mother-in-law has a history of excluding family members from her life over petty grudges.

‘She doesn’t necessarily talk to anyone in her family. As if he had isolated all the members of his family,” the woman said.

KIIS FM shock jock Kyle Sandilands commented: “Oh, so she’s a bit of a stick-in-the-mud type.”

The caller confirmed: “Yes, he tends to hold grudges.”

She then went on to say that she and her husband had a baby girl that her mother-in-law has not met yet because of the dispute over the jewel.

“We had a daughter, so my daughter is two and a half years old and she never met her (her grandmother),” she said.

They’re not the only struggling family to call into the Kyle and Jackie O Show in recent weeks. Kyle, 53, reached into his own pockets last week to help a Sydney woman who called into his radio show.

The charitable act came when Kyle and co-star Jackie O Henderson were playing their daily $10,000 pop quiz, which awards listeners $100 for every question they answer correctly or $10,000 for a clean answer.

The woman said she used her mother's jeweler to create her wedding ring for her nuptials, but the craftsman 'ruined' the ring so much that it caused a rift between the mother-daughter duo.

A 23-year-old woman named Rhiannon phoned in to play and revealed that she was going to use the $10,000 to help buy her struggling parents a new car.

An emotional Rhiannon revealed that her father had just lost his job in the middle of building a new house.

“His car is about to leave,” she said through tears.

‘Dad doesn’t have a job at the moment and mom doesn’t work long hours, so we’re struggling. We are building a new house. “So I just want to do something good and help them.”

Unfortunately, Rhiannon was disappointed as she only answered two questions correctly and walked away with just $200.

However, after revealing that he can’t stand hearing women cry, Kyle went rogue and stopped the show to go against the competition rules.

He offered to relieve some of the stress on the struggling family by offering to personally buy them a car.

Sydney’s number one breakfast radio duo failed to show up at the awards ceremony, with the producers of their hit show collecting the gong on their behalf.

They also faced rivals Lauren Phillips and Jason Hawkins for the Best On-Air Team award, but both groups lost it to Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller.
