Houston Texans star Brevin Jordan will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL.

Jordan was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday after suffering the injury in Sunday night’s win over the Chicago Bears.

He had had two seven-yard receptions in the Texans’ first two games of the season after playing backup to Dalton Schulz.

The Texans, who boast a star-studded roster this season, selected Jordan with a fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft.

The injury comes at a terrible time for Jordan, who is in the final year of his rookie contract and looking to prove his worth to head coach DeMeco Ryans.

“If you want to talk about the heart of this team, it’s just who he is,” quarterback CJ Stroud said this week.

“He’s someone who loves the hard game and loves everyone in this building. He loves the game of basketball and I think he was really gaining momentum on who he wanted to be in this league and how he wanted to approach practice.

‘I’m praying for him and I know he’s a man of faith and God doesn’t make mistakes and he knows that, so I’m not worried about him, but I’m going to be a brother he can lean on.

“I love Brev very much and he will be my brother for the rest of my life. I know he will be back soon and will do great things when he returns.”

Coach Ryans added: “It’s really heartbreaking to lose Brevin. He was on his way to a breakout year. I feel sorry for Brevin and the injury.”

“Whenever these guys go through these injuries it’s tough, so first things first: he and Brevin need to approach the rehab the right way and get back as soon as possible.”
