Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. is facing charges of second-degree assault and strangulation after being arrested for attacking his girlfriend, WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, in New York.
New York police told DailyMail.com that when they arrived on scene, the 26-year-old woman had a laceration to the right side of her face and a preliminary investigation determined she had been struck multiple times .
According to BNCGondrezick was taken to hospital with at least one broken bone and bruises after the alleged attack, which occurred Monday night at the Millennium Hotel near Times Square.
Porter was taken to Central Booking after he was arrested and accused of assaulting her.
It is claimed the incident escalated after Porter Jr was locked out of their hotel room. Hotel security was called before police were alerted.

The couple attended a New York Fashion Week launch party on September 7.
The couple celebrated their first anniversary in February
The NBA player reportedly returned from a night out in the early hours of Monday morning. Gondrezick, unhappy with his late return, locked the door.
Once Porter entered the room – with the help of hotel security – he allegedly beat Gondrezick. ABC says Porter is in the custody of the New York Police Department.
In a statement, the Rockets said they were “gathering information regarding the matter” and that an investigation was underway.
The couple was photographed celebrating the start of New York Fashion Week at the Smart Tox launch event with Vogue on Thursday.
The event was attended by stars such as Christina Aguilera, Lukas Gage and Haley Kalil.
This isn’t Porters’ first offense. In 2020, while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Porter was arrested for weapons possession and driving without a license.
Porter and Gondrezick have been dating since February 2022. She posted on X, formerly Twitter, sharing photos from their first anniversary.
Gondrezick was the fourth pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft when she was selected to play guard for the Indiana Fever.
She was the highest selection in program history to her alma mater, West Virginia. As well as the second player from the school to join the Fever.
Gondrezick’s father, Grant William Gondrezick, was an NBA player. He played for the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers and played professionally internationally. He coached high school basketball before his death in 2021.
His parents met in 1993 and married in 1995. Kysre’s mother, Lisa Harvey-Gondrezick, is also a basketball coach.
