We didn’t get any new details about the Housemarque studio after the release of Returnal for PC, but it seems that this outage was caused by the team’s preoccupation with working on their next unannounced project.
We recently learned that the team is working on a brand new game for the PS5 according to studio head Ilari Kuittinen’s bio, which was featured on the Reboot Develop Blue 2023 speaker list, citing push squarewhich indicated that the studio currently has 110 developers, and is working on its next game under the PlayStation Studios umbrella.
No additional information about the project has been mentioned, but we can expect another Rougelike like Returnal did.
