House of the Dragon Season 2 Finale Leaves Fans FURIOUS Over Anticlimactic Ending: ‘Where’s the Rest of the Episode?’

HBO’s House of the Dragon closed out its second season with the season finale on Sunday night, which left fans mostly disappointed.

The 70-minute finale, titled The Queen Who Always Was, didn’t offer the spectacle that many Game of Thrones fans had come to expect from season finales.

Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration with the episode, which ultimately set the stage for what many hope will be an exciting Season 3… albeit at the cost of a lackluster finale.

While there were their share of surprising moments, including a bold move by Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and a surprisingly unclaimed Iron Throne, many were left disappointed.

“WHERE IS THE REST OF THE EPISODE?” @ashx_s0ul tweeted alongside a photo of a cat with the caption “Sobbing in Valyrian.”

The first season ended with Rhaenyra Targaryn’s (Emma D’Arcy) shocking deal between her and Aemond’s (Ewan Mitchell) son Lucerys, setting the stage for the “war” to come.

Still, fans didn’t get much in terms of battle royale action in Season 2, which is the main reason why many were disappointed.

@Mr_Forrest_Pump lamented nearly an hour into the episode: “55 minutes in… no action… just gum-bumping.”

@CallieJo93 added: ‘#HouseOfThedragon The most boring ending I’ve ever seen. Now we have to wait two years. How boring.’

The series debuted in 2022, and although it was quickly renewed for season 2, fans had to wait almost two full years for the second season.

It’s unclear what the production schedule is for Season 3, but if it has to wait another two years, fans clearly won’t be happy.
