A man has died after ‘falling from the balcony of a tower in South London today’ at 4am.

Forensic tents were erected near bins outside a residential complex in Kennington, South London after a man ‘fell from a height and died.’

Witnesses reported hearing a “loud bang” from outside the building in the early hours. Others claimed that a man had fallen off a 19th-floor balcony.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed tonight that a man “fell from a height and died” before paramedics arrived.

Officers added that death “is not treated as suspicious.”

Metropolitan Police said, “Earlier in the day there was a cordon outside Ebenezer House, Kennington Lane, SE11 after a man fell from height and died.

‘The police were called on Sunday 2 August at 4.13 am by the on-site LAS.

The man fell from height before the emergency services arrived. The man was pronounced dead on the spot.

“A cordon cordon has now been removed.

“The death will not be treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM’s coroner.”

Witnesses living in the area reported hearing a “loud bang” from outside the building early in the morning.

A woman said, “I live in the block and heard a loud bang this morning around 4am.

“People say someone jumped or fell off one of the balconies and landed in jail.”

Another resident said a man had ‘fallen off the balcony’ probably from the 19th floor before ‘four police vans’ arrived.
