Horror-stricken dog owner witnesses their beloved pet being mauled to death by two Pitbulls, leaving them devastated.

Date:

A devastated dog owner says she could only watch in horror as her beloved pet was mauled by two dogs shortly after opening her front door.

Rocky, a Chihuahua-Jack Russell mix, was only seconds away Monday night when he was brutally attacked by some “pit bull-type” animals in Camberwell.

His owner claims the animals were off leash and attacked him ‘for no reason’, causing fatal injuries including a broken spine and punctured lungs.

Footage supposedly showing the aftermath of the attack shows a man grabbing two dogs by the collars and pulling them away from the crime scene, before walking away.

Rocky’s owner has now issued a social media appeal to try and find the dogs and their owner in an effort to get “justice,” claiming they have acted aggressively in the past.

The incident is believed to have occurred in Northlands Street, Camberwell at around 8.30pm on Monday 24 April.

In a post on Instagram, Rocky’s owner @nayaraaa.gmz_ said he was killed right after he stepped out.

“Last night my dog was killed at my front door,” she wrote.

“I was about to walk my dog, but the moment I stepped out my front door, there were two dogs, pitbull-types, standing outside with no leash of any kind.

My poor dog was attacked for no reason, he didn’t even get time to sniff the dogs when one of them grabbed him by the neck and killed him.

“My dog’s name was Rocky, he was a mix of Chihuahua and Jack Russell, he was very well known to many people in Ruskin Park. I am devastated because I had to watch him fight for his life without him doing anything bad.

‘My dad and I tried our best to separate the dogs but it wasn’t enough, it took about 10-15 seconds for him to grab him. I ran to the local vet and sadly had to watch my dog go through the worst.”

She added that Rocky fought bravely for several hours, but sadly died shortly after midnight after his spine was broken and his lungs punctured in the attack.

A video taken by a passerby shows a man grabbing two brown dogs by the collar and dragging them away from a woman and man, who appear to comfort Rocky on the ground.

You can hear the man cursing at the dogs as he takes them away, before walking them off the leash and in the opposite direction of the apparent attack.

In her post, Rocky’s owner said she reported the incident to police and begged for help to get “justice” for the dog.

“I have reported to the police, they are trying to find this man and his dogs since he just left after the accident, I have not been given any details,” she wrote.

“Please, we are trying to find this man and his dogs to bring justice.

‘This is a man in his thirties, he must be from the area as it’s not the first time he’s passed Northlands Street, we think he lives near Lilford Road or Kenbury Gardens.

“It’s not the first time these dogs have attacked someone since other neighbors have said so. Both the owner and the dogs have shown aggressiveness on several occasions.

“Our neighbors recorded him, although you can’t see his face, you can get a picture of him and his dogs.”

MailOnline has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
