Horror: Police make morbid discoveries on a carousel in an iconic park in New York City

Human remains have been discovered on the shoreline of Brooklyn Bridge Park, marking the third time in a month that police have recovered bones from the iconic landmark.

New York City police officers responded to a 911 call about bone fragments along the shore of 10 Dock Street around 7 p.m. Saturday.

The video shows officers combing rocks along the water in front of Jane’s famous carousel, which was built in 1922 and donated to the park in 2011 after years of restoration.

The woman who discovered the bones said she was looking intentionally after learning that other remains had been found in the same area the previous week.

“I wondered how the bones could possibly be near a carousel. I looked at the rocks around the carousel and, lo and behold, I saw them,” said Brooklyn resident Huntly Cooper. Women’s Association of North America (WABC).

Others, as well as members of the New York Police Department, were then seen searching the rocks with cadaver-sniffing dogs in their effort to find more remains.

Police told the local news station that both sets of bones found before Saturday came from the same person.
